DIFFS – Wind of Change
We provide heliport firefighting and rescue equipment in strict accordance with CAP 437, SOLAS, and ICAO Annex 14 regulations.
Deck Integrated Fire Fighting System – DIFFS
The DIFFS is a highly efficient fire suppression system widely used on both rooftop heliports and offshore helidecks.
This system disperses a water and foam mixture through stainless-steel nozzles integrated in the aluminum planking. A network of pipes installed beneath the deck distributes the mixture of water and AFFF to the nozzles. The DIFFS can be activated manually or automatically through flame detectors.
The system extinguishes the fire within 15 seconds, meeting most regulations’ requirements, and in many cases, the fire is controlled in less than 10 seconds.
The DIFFS is recommended by international regulations and enhances the safety of crew and passengers, facilitating rescue operations. When used in conjunction with Safe-Aludeck® passive fire suppression planking can be utilized with water only, as specified by CAP 437 and ICAO Annex 14.
Engineering and detailed drawings for installation are provided.

Other firefighting equipment
In addition to DIFFS, other firefighting equipment used in heliports include:
- Fixed Monitor System (FMS) – This system typically comprises two monitors located on top of the access and egress platforms. It delivers a substantial water and foam flow to cover a wide area. We supply different types of monitors:
- Auto-oscillating
- Manually controlled
- Remotely controlled
- Fire hose reels (branch pipes) – These are used on top of the heliport platform to precisely deliver the water and foam mixture, complementing the monitor system or DIFFS. In dual-agent systems, dry powder is also discharged:
- Extinguishers
- Dry Powder
- CO2
